We donate our cars to

Young adults, from difficult backgrounds, who are working to break the cycle of poverty through education and hard work.

We accept Nominations from DCFS Caseworkers and organizations which wrap their arms around the individuals we seek to help.

We want all of our recipients to have the means to own a vehicle and to have the determination to better their opportunities through education and employment. The recipient must show us how they will be able to afford insurance, maintenance and fuel and they must pay for the transfer costs.

In addition, to receive a vehicle, nominees must::

Have a valid Louisiana Driver’s License, with no DUI or serious moving traffic violation
Be drug free, as proven by a hair or nail drug test
Successfully complete the Gift-A-Lift training program (which includes information about car insurance, how cars work, the costs of owning a car, safe and responsible driving, and how to do things like jump a battery, check your oil, and change a tire.)

Unfortunately, there are many more young adults who can meet these requirements than cars that are available. And, there are more people in need of help than these young adults.
